POSITION SUMMARY:

Working under administrative supervision and with moderate difficulty, this position is responsible for collaborating with communities and local governments in the identification of potential resiliency, mitigation, and economic recovery projects in disaster-impacted areas throughout the program’s northern Arizona region.  This is a two-year grant-funded position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, plans, and implements Economic Recovery and Resilience Plans with the goal of rebuilding resilient and sustainable communities throughout the region
  • Assists in local, state, and federally headed coronavirus recovery planning efforts throughout the most highly impacted communities of the region
  • Assists in identifying and preparing grant applications for economic development projects that qualify for state and federal funding to ensure that locally impacted communities take full advantage of available funding opportunities
  • Develops and maintains effective local, regional, state, and federal partnerships to speed the recovery process through strategic technical assistance and local capacity augmentation for highly-impacted communities within the program’s jurisdiction
  • Facilitates and implements locally-generated disaster recovery economic development projects developed by the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies (CEDS) or CEDS-aligned Economic Recovery and Resilience Plan

Other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, social services, planning, or other related field of study; OR a combination of education and experience equal to four years’ experience in disaster recovery, business continuity, mitigation, community development, resiliency planning, project administration, public administration concepts, and/or data research and analysis.
