The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating responses to behavioral health emergencies across the Commonwealth through the state-issued data platform. Dispatchers coordinate with PSAPs, mobile teams and hubs, and with the call center to ensure the efficient response to a behavioral health crisis.

Competitive Salary: $55,000 - $65,000

Shift Available: Tuesday - Saturday, 3 pm - 11:30 pm EST

Fully Remote

Receive and process behavioral health emergency care coordination requests with PSAPs and mobile hubs.

Monitor and provide technical support to mobile teams dispatching across the Commonwealth.

Provide standardized safety checks with mobile teams who are in the field and coordinate with PSAPs regarding the dispatch of mobile teams in the field.

Monitor the data platform for requests for mobile teams and monitor regional Microsoft Teams applications for communications regarding dispatch.

Coordinate with PSAPs regarding available resources for co-response.

Update state data platform with case updates and dispositions.

Provide a safe environment for staff to self-disclose, seek consultation, and appropriately address concerns.

Adaptability to changes in environment and situations

Strong and effective communication skills and accepts criticism and feedback

Dependability by following instructions, responds to management direction and keeps commitments

Meets attendance punctuality guidelines

Maintains emotional self-awareness and manages relationships positively

Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming and building interpersonal relationships

Contributes to building a positive team spirit and exhibits objectivity and openness to others views

High School Diploma or GED

Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction

Experience in telephonic and text crisis management and call center environment.

Demonstrated experience in a PSAP or similar environment.

Awareness of or experience in the mental health substance abuse treatment systems in Virginia.

Ability to exercise excellent independent judgment with minimal direct supervision.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, Spanish-speaking bilingual skills a plus
