Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is building a pool of qualified candidates for current and future opportunities as Aircraft Workers (AWs). This entry-level program offers aspiring aviation maintenance professionalsespecially those with mechanical experience in automotive, marine, military, or industrial tradesa pathway to enter and grow within the aviation industry.
AWs are paired with certificated Aircraft & Powerplant Maintenance Technicians in a helper/assistant role, gaining skills and hands-on experience while contributing to Embry-Riddle's aircraft maintenance operations. As AWs gain proficiency, they progress through four defined levels (A1A4), each with increasing responsibility, while remaining under the direct supervision of both their assigned mentor A&P and the crew shift lead.
Work performed by AWs is conducted under the oversight of a certificated A&P mentor and crew shift lead.
Level A1 Basic Mechanical Skills
Level A2 Automotive, Marine, or Military Experience
Level A3 Aviation & Manufacturing Experience
Level A4 Advanced Technical Skills / Near A&P Equivalent
