We are seeking a Manufacturing Software Specialist to support the technology systems that power our PlasmaSource and blood product manufacturing operations. In this role, you will serve as the primary subject matter expert for manufacturing software applications that help ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant production of life-saving blood and plasma-derived products.The Manufacturing Software Specialist partners closely with manufacturing, quality, IT, and operational teams to evaluate, implement, maintain, and enhance software systems that support blood product processing and PlasmaSource operations. This position plays a key role in managing software updates, supporting system implementations, coordinating change control activities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to help advance Vitalant's life-saving mission.Compensation: $94,182- $110,000 annually This is a remote, work-from-home position. Please note: Vitalant does not currently hire individuals who reside in the following states - Alabama, Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Utah, and Vermont.As a Manufacturing Software Specialist, you'll get to:Lead and manage software projects across multiple operational areas, including evaluation, implementation, resource coordination, and post-project review.Provide strategic input and technical expertise to support evolving manufacturing technologies and software solutions.Serve as the primary resource for manufacturing software applications, including configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and ongoing support.Develop and oversee software validation, testing, change control, and defect resolution processes to ensure system reliability and compliance.Collaborate with internal teams, leadership, vendors, and external partners to gather requirements and implement software enhancements.Research, evaluate, and recommend new software applications, tools, and system improvements to support operational efficiency.Ensure manufacturing software systems comply with regulatory requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and organizational standards.Create and maintain technical documentation, training materials, and troubleshooting resources while supporting end users across operational sites.REQUIREMENTS:KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in related area or equivalent combination of education and experience required.Advanced degree preferred.Current understanding of federal and AABB standards governing blood industry manufacturing activities preferred.LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSQuality Center and automated testing application certification preferred.EXPERIENCEFive years related experience required.SKILLS/ABILITIESMust possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.Must be able to maintain confidentiality.Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Efficient consulting skills with the ability to effectively assist personnel in executing job tasks.Ability to plan and organize a diversified and heavy workload.Ability to make sound decisions and work well under pressure.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Ability to interact with all levels of management.Strong customer service skills.Proficient computer skills (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet applications).Location: Vitalant Remote WorkPhoenix, AZ 85007Job Category:Information Technology (IT)Contact Information: careers@If you are impact-inspired to help others, and making a difference is vital for you, you'll experience a career built on purpose, a company created to care, and a team committed to lead - together.
