The posted compensation range of $18.00 - $22.19/hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Registrar, you will facilitate our patient admission flow for our professional caregivers by expertly managing all functions related to patient registration. We're searching for an organized and efficient Registrar to orchestrate the critical first steps of our patients' journey. As the crucial front-line support for our clinical care teams, you'll expertly manage all facets of patient registration, ensuring seamless operations from the very first interaction. This isn't just clerical work; it's about providing the foundational clarity that allows our care teams to focus on what they do best: healing. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and clerical skills, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and compliance with financial regulations. Your ability to accurately manage complex administrative tasks will directly support seamless patient care and operational efficiency.

  • Registers/pre-registers patient in a timely manner, as evidenced by minimal to no patient waiting and minimal registration time.
  • Obtains accurate and complete patient information for the registration process.
  • Completes medical record requests within department guidelines.
  • Provides adequate notes in computer system by documenting all payer related information, patient issues, physician office communications and any account related communication.
  • Ensures correct forms are filled out and signed for each registration, payer-related forms, COA, Medicare notification letters.
  • Ensures that patient handouts are being given out and explained (i.e.: Patient Rights and Responsibilities, Advance Directives, Financial Assistance, etc.).

Job Requirements

Minimum

  • High School graduate or GED
  • Previous experience in a clerical setting
  • Typing speed 30 wpm
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Computer skills

Preferred

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in prior authorization precertification insurance benefits and how they apply to hospital registration or medical office setting. Medical terminology.
  • Current BLS certification
  • Previous experience with an EMR; Cerner
