Facilities Maintenance Specialist

The Town of Prescott Valley invites you to apply for the position of Facilities Maintenance Specialist. We invite you to join the high performing team at the Town of Prescott Valley, serving as our Facilities Specialist within the Public Works Department, providing maintenance to all the Town-owned facilities, grounds and structures. Examples of Duties

In this position, you will:

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and alteration of buildings, offices, or other community & recreation service facilities to include painting, general carpentry, flooring, renovations, moving furniture, drywall, roof repair, light fixture repair, plumbing or installation of flooring materials.
  • Perform various tasks involving journey-level building maintenance, repair carpet and replace baseboard; remove and repair floor/ceiling tile; inspect roof and repair roof leaks; clean gutters; repair chain link, install, adjust and repair doors and hardware; replace windows, doors and glass panes; cut keys, lubricate hardware; replace weather stripping; construct or assemble tables, cabinets and shelving.
  • Respond to emergency situations concerning malfunctioning building equipment including HVAC, natural gas, electrical, domestic water, boilers, chillers, generators, fire alarm system, etc. Analyze situation and take appropriate action.
  • Review building automation system checking for system abnormalities; follow up with walk-through to verify proper temperatures and equipment operation for occupant comfort and safety.

Typical Qualification

Requirements:

  • Technical education in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, electronics, pneumatics, and/or digital controls with a minimum of three (3) years facility/building experience.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License and ability to pass a pre-employment background including driving record.
  • Working knowledge of building and HVAC blueprints, wiring schematics, installation, operation, and service manuals to diagnose and repair systems.
  • Ability to apply methods, practices, and procedures in preventative maintenance, inspection, repair, and renovation of buildings and facilities

Compensation: The Town's complete compensation package includes salary, benefits, and a high-performance culture. The Town package includes a health, dental, and vision insurance plan, participation in the state retirement system, optional 457 deferred compensation with a town match up to 6%, vacation, holidays, and additional comprehensive benefits.
