Construction Coordinator - Earthworks

Description:

Brunel is currently searching for a Construction Coordinator – Earthworks for a long term, contract opportunity to support the execution and commissioning of a large-scale TSF in a mining construction project in Arizona. This field-focused role is ideal for someone with a strong background in earthworks in heavy civil or mining projects, who thrives in fast-paced environments and values safety, quality, and teamwork.

This contract position will work on-site in Bagdad, Arizona on a 4x1 rotation*. All travel, lodging, transportation and stipend will be covered.

What You'll Do:

  • Promote and enforce all MSHA and site-specific safety protocols
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as the client's field representative, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate daily activities with contractors, engineers, and site management to maintain efficient project execution.
  • Conduct inspections and request testing to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain detailed logs and daily reports on progress, safety, and quality metrics.
  • Identify and resolve non-conformances
  • Support audits and ensure all required documentation and records are accurate and up to date.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of experience in earthworks or heavy civil construction
  • Solid understanding of QA/QC procedures and soil/material testing standards
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings/specifications
  • Language skills – English is required
  • Experience in Lean Construction practices and Construction Planning
  • Experience with mega projects (values exceeding US$ 1.0 billion), especially large mineral processing projects.
  • Prior EPCM experience preferred with field coordination
  • Experience in Tailings Storage Facility or Earthen Dams constructionrequired!
  • Previous Drill and blast experience preferred
  • Understanding of Labor requirements and forecasting
  • Experience in setting KPI's and tracking on a day-to-day basis
  • Predominant experience in earthworks field roles
  • Working as a team member (Client, EPCM & Contractors)
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Willing to work night shifts.
  • Mining and MSHA experience preferred
  • Willing to commute 50–70 miles to site via company transport.

Offer:

Position includes a competitive daily rateworking Monday through Friday, on a 4-week on-site/1-week off at home not working rotational schedule*. Travel accommodations, transportation, housing and a monthly stipend will be included.
