Reporting to the Library and Tutoring Services Information Technology Specialist, the Part-Time Technology Assistant provides hands-on technical support for the Library, Tutoring Services, and Immersive Learning areas. This position focuses on maintaining and updating laptops and other technology equipment, supporting virtual reality (VR) systems, and assisting students and staff with technology in learning spaces. The role ensures students receive timely help with digital tools, including Microsoft Office and multimedia technologies, contributing to an engaging, innovative, and accessible learning environment. Library and Tutoring Technology Support
Maintain and update laptops, hotspots, and other technology equipment.
Provide one-on-one assistance to students using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other academic software.
Troubleshoot software, connectivity, and login issues for CLI users.
Assist with the setup and operation of technology used in tutoring sessions, study rooms, and collaborative spaces.
Maintain accurate records of technology inventory.
Immersive and Emerging Technology Support
Provide setup and operational support for VR headsets and software used in immersive learning experiences.
Assist faculty and students in launching and navigating VR applications.
Perform basic maintenance of VR equipment.
Support testing for new immersive technologies as they are introduced in CLI spaces.
Fast Capture Studios and Multimedia Support
Provide support in the Fast Capture Studios, including camera, lighting, and audio checks, and troubleshoot common technical issues.
Assist users with recording, transferring, and saving their content securely.
General Technical Assistance
Support multimedia and collaborative spaces such as podcast studios, recording areas, and experimental classrooms.
Document technical procedures and create user-friendly instructions for students and staff.

Minimum Expectations & Requirements
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- Comfortable providing technology assistance to others
- Computer maintenance & troubleshooting
- Confidence using technology & devices
- Experience using Microsoft 365 apps
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Task orientated (prioritizes and adheres to deadlines)
- Ability to display a positive outlook and willingness to appreciate differences in individuals
Preferred Skills & Abilities- Experience with mobile device management (MDMs)
- Experience with computer inventory software
- Experience with library or equipment lending software
- Experience with Audio/Visual (AV) devices and platforms
- Experience with video capture & editing
- Work experience in a community college/higher education environment
