Overview/Purpose:

The Worship Leader will assist the Worship Pastor and Worship Team in creating a cohesive, distraction free environment that achieves our goals of helping people Encounter Jesus, Engage in their faith, and be Empowered to serve Jesus.

TheWorship Leader will be responsible for the following:

1) Modeling Biblical Priorities

Responsible for upholding Biblical priorities and core values of Heights Church. The Worship Leader should represent a growing personal relationship with Christ. They will strive to fulfill his or her purpose in life and ministry while demonstrating integrity in words, relationships, and actions.

2) Essential duties and Responsibilities

Success in this role will be best accomplished by working with the Worship Team in creating an environment that empowers, encourages, and cares for our church family and serve team members:
  • Lead our church family in a genuine encounter with the Holy Spirit through worship on a weekly basis at one of our church locations.
  • Work in tandem with the Worship Team to welcome new serve team members to join the Worship Team.
  • Assist the team with worship projects. Work together to set goals, plan schedules, and execute the project.
  • Collaborate with the Worship Team on song selections, team strengthening, culture setting within worship gatherings and overall vision of Worship Arts.
  • Support the youth worship leader in youth gatherings, as needed.
  • Support the Worship Pastor for weekly song selection, band team creation, tracks and rehearsals.
  • Maintain a worshipful stage presence that will invite others into a worshipping experience
  • Be ready and available to start up conversations with aspiring musicians. Seek to help individuals develop their musical skills, as time allows.
  • Help maintain a positive, inviting, and energetic environment. Sociable and welcoming.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Ability to fill in when needed in any area
  • Relational (caring and personable on an individual level)
  • Effective communication skills with team members (interpersonal and group)
  • Demonstrates a heart and passion for ministry
  • Self-starter - able to work independently in a disciplined manner
  • Demonstrated innovative and creative approach to ministry
  • Administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
  • Must be versatile and collaborative team player with the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to project a professional Heights image through in-person, video, email, and phone interaction
  • Proven ability to use good judgement and ability to maintain confidentiality
