The Graphic Designer is responsible for layout, design and production of marketing materials that create a consistent image in support of university marketing and branding strategies. This is a full-time, on-site, administrative and professional staff position, reporting to the Associate Director of Creative Strategy and Brand Management. The Graphic Designer is a self-sufficient designer with an excellent portfolio, a strong sense of typography and extremely detail-oriented.
This position is responsible for developing innovative design solutions and collaborating with clients to address communication needs while working within a group of creative professionals in a team environment. The position functions as a creative contributor to various teams and individuals in a collaborative office environment. Print design is a vital component of this role, requiring a strong understanding of multi-page layout, typography, color and production processes to bring ideas to life in physical form. The positions plays a key role in translating brand-strategy into high-quality printed materials.
The Graphic Designer has a strong understanding of complex audiences in a higher education institution (including prospective students, donors, faculty, staff, parents and alumni).
They demonstrate flexibility, innovation, and an interest in continued professional growth and learning; evidence of successful project management; and the ability to establish strong, positive relationships with all campus community members. The Graphic Designer manages multiple projects while also focusing on one specific creative endeavor.
