Overview

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. They greet customers warmly, maintain a clean and organized store, and support operations and customer service throughout their shift.

Responsibilities

  • Make eye contact, smile, and greet and thank every customer.
  • Assist customers at the register and with merchandise questions.
  • Respond promptly to customer service calls and resolve issues courteously.
  • Maintain a safe, clutter?free sales floor and report unsafe conditions.
  • Clean and replenish fixtures, counters, mirrors, restrooms, and high?touch areas.
  • Perform daily stock, sizing, and restocking per company best practice.
  • Expedite merchandise receipts to the sales floor and merchandise per monthly presentation guidelines.
  • Follow Loss Prevention Awareness program and merchant protection standards.
  • Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card data, and merchandise.
  • Follow all policies for cash, check, charge?card and refund transactions.
  • Maximize productivity by executing Store best practices and avoiding unnecessary steps.

Qualifications & Special Skills Required
  • Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, and cooperative manner.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations common in retail environments.

Physical Requirements / ADA
  • Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PC.
  • Spend all working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
  • Regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25?lb.
  • Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
  • Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
  • Associates who work stockroom shifts: push, pull and lift more than 20?lb.
