About The Position
Job Title: Certified Surgical First Assist Profession: CSFA Specialty: STFA 742090 type: OR (Operating Room) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8H Days Hours per Shift: 0700-1530 + Call required Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Not required for submission Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: No clinical involvement Description: This position is within the Operating Room. The unit encompasses various specialties including Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology, Obstetrics, Vascular, and Neuro/Spine. Registered Nurses are not required to titrate drips. There is a Charge Nurse and House Supervisor on the unit. Additionally, Tele/Monitor Technicians are present, and nurses do read strips. Shifts are scheduled from 0700 to 1530, Monday through Friday, with call required due to high volume. Weekend call is required approximately every fourth weekend. Call is expected about 25-30% of the time, occurring every three to four days and every third or fourth weekend. This position may require floating to other campuses to cover first assistant duties, including traveling between campuses multiple times in a day. There are no common titratable or set rate drips in this unit. The charting system utilized is Cerner.
