Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Medical Director, and Pathologist, the Director of Laboratory is responsible 24/7/365 for the administration and technical activities of the clinical laboratory.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Proof of highest level of education completed but not less than high school education or equivalent as recognized by an approved government accreditation association.
• Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or equivalent.
• Registration by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or a nationally recognized registry of Medical Technologist.
• 5 years or more of progressive laboratory management experience in a hospital clinical setting.
• Strong Human Resources skill set for managing and leading within the Laboratory.
• Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form required.
• An understanding of computer systems, process design and data management.
• Must have a well?groomed, professional appearance.
• Required to have the mental and physical ability to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, the essential functions of the job.
• Ability to lift, carry, pull, and push 50 pounds.
• Language proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal fluency.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Meditech experience or other related electronic records systems.
• Five years experience as a Laboratory Director/Administrator preferred.
