NEEDED: Voices for children in Foster Care

2025-09-11     CASA of Yavapai County - Prescott     Prescott,AZ
Description:

CASAs (Court Appointed Special Advocates) are needed to speak up for children in foster care. Every year more than 500,000 children in the United States are processed through the overburdened Court and Child Welfare System. These children have suffered physical, emotional and even sexual abuse; others have been abandoned. In 1977 a Seattle Judge created the CASA program to ensure each child in the court system receives the required attention. The goal of a CASA Volunteer is to ensure each child is placed in a safe, loving, permanent home when they can grow and thrive. The CASA Volunteer is trained by professionals in the legal and child welfare fields, and receives supervision and support throughout the life of the case. Fingerprinting and background checks are required, and training is provided and required on an ongoing basis.
