SONIC Multi-Unit Leader Job Description

As a Sonic Multi-Unit Leader, you will manage the operations of all General Managers and employees across multiple SONIC drive-ins. Your responsibilities include training and supporting employees to ensure the delivery of quality food in a clean, safe, and efficient environment, providing guests with an enjoyable experience. Key duties include:

  1. Managing, training, and coaching General Managers, including conducting management orientation.
  2. Directing and assigning employees to meet operational standards.
  3. Overseeing employees and management across multiple drive-ins, ensuring all stations (e.g., Fountain & Frozen, Dresser, Front Swamp, Back Swamp, Grill, Switchboard, Expeditor, Food Prep, Carhop, Skating Carhop, Drive-Thru) perform their duties effectively, maintaining standards for portion control, temperature, presentation, taste, and service.
  4. Ensuring compliance with the employee handbook, policies, and practices.
  5. Addressing employee issues and policy violations promptly, reporting to supervisors as necessary.
  6. Reviewing work schedules to ensure proper staffing and service levels.
  7. Monitoring cost control procedures for food, labor, and inventory, taking corrective actions when needed.
  8. Supervising vendor performance and addressing issues promptly.
  9. Auditing employment and payroll records.
  10. Reinforcing guest-first service principles.
  11. Handling escalated guest requests and complaints professionally.
  12. Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring management team members.
  13. Approving compensation levels within company guidelines.
  14. Preparing operational reports and developing action plans for financial or sales issues.
  15. Implementing regional marketing plans.

Additional Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; advanced studies preferred.
  • Minimum of three years restaurant management experience, preferably in QSR.
  • Experience managing multiple units.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, and employment practices.
  • Understanding of labor laws, health, and sanitation regulations.
  • Leadership, communication, and supervisory skills.
  • Basic accounting and computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and solve problems effectively.
  • Commitment to appearance, uniform, and hygiene standards.
