Role

As the Senior Engineering Manager, AI in the Artificial Intelligence group, you will lead the development of core AI/ML capabilities to power Splunk's product portfolio and support our customers' digital resiliency journey. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior members, and drive the scientific roadmap of the area.

Responsibilities

• Develop a long-term strategy and roadmap for integrating AI/ML technology across our product portfolio.
• Lead the development of core AI/ML models and algorithms for key use cases in cybersecurity and observability.
• Partner with Product Leads to build a strategic product vision and flexible science/engineering plan, supporting iterative learning.
• Stay updated with the latest AI/ML research and incorporate advancements into our technology roadmap.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to foster skill development.
• Establish structures to ensure team accountability for progress, learning, communication, and meeting business objectives.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Deep knowledge and proven experience in AI/ML, including deep learning, time series modeling, NLP, and unsupervised learning.
• Expertise in Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Experience leading and managing teams of applied scientists and engineers in machine learning.
• Experience developing and deploying large-scale, complex models in production.
• Ability to set and execute innovation strategies aligned with business goals.
• Familiarity with architectural patterns of high-scale applications.
• Experience in cybersecurity and/or observability industries is preferred.
