Salary Range:

The Digital Assistant Principal assists the Digital Principal in the administrative and instructional leadership of the school. At the direction of the Digital Principal, the Digital Assistant Principal shares responsibility for all aspects of the site including implementation of an innovative instructional program, facilities operation and maintenance, school/community relations and the development, utilization and evaluation of staff and faculty and administering student discipline.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree or relevant experience in school leadership
  • Three (3) years successful teaching experience
  • Principal License required (in any 50 states)
  • Meets at least one of the Appropriately Certified requirements determined by the Arizona Department of Education
  • Experience with innovative technologies and online learning, highly preferred
  • Satisfactory criminal background checks in addition to active AZ DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists the Principal in administrative and instructional leadership of the School.
  • Participates in a continuing professional development program, maintaining a high level of competence in the field of education.
  • Serves as an administrative and co-supervisory official of the school by working closely with the instructional staff to improve educational outcomes for all students.
  • Utilizes/relies heavily upon communication technologies and practices that most effectively support a predominantly virtual / remote work environment;
  • Prepares and/or collaborates with the Principal for the creation of all data reports, master teaching schedules, records, and other data to improve educational outcome for all students.
  • Selects and recommends for hiring school personnel who demonstrate an enthusiasm, professional background, and understanding of the ASU Prep way.
  • Maintains high standards of student safety and conduct, and enforces discipline as necessary in accordance with School Committee policy and the students' rights to due process.
  • Uses evaluation for self-improvement; carries out Performance Improvement Plans when necessary
  • Communicates and implements the ASU Prep philosophy and vision with the school and community.
  • Assists in the analysis of all data associated with students and parents (test results, on-going progress monitoring, parent satisfaction, discipline infractions, absences, tardiness, etc.)
  • Utilizes and analyzes data to assist in developing and monitoring a school plan and the educational goals.
  • Assists Principal with monitoring instruction through review of lesson plans, instructional delivery, feedback to staff on instructional strategies and conducting formal evaluations.
  • Performs other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Principal as required by law, code, and regulation/ASU Prep policy.
  • Assists the Principal in ensuring effective professional development for staff reflecting the various innovations as well as effective teaching strategies.
  • Understands the elements of effective ASU Prep education pedagogy and ensures its implementation in the school's daily and overall curriculum.
  • Supervises the effective and efficient implementation of the educational and instructional programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and the provisions of the district's collective bargaining agreements.
  • Acts as a student advocate to ensure the rights of all students are respected and that all have equal access to the educational opportunities necessary to meet their needs and abilities.
  • Keeps the Principal informed, and advises, assists, and works cooperatively with all other staff in school-related matters.
  • Supervises and participates in IEP (Individualized Education Program), 504 Plans and other parent/teacher conferences.
  • Provides an articulated, consistent education for all students while encouraging staff to develop high yield strategies, techniques and activities that reflect instructional rigor and academic excellence.
  • Communicates the ASU Prep mission and vision to school personnel, students, parents and community.
  • Promotes effective communication and cooperation among staff through regular staff meetings, PLCs and department and grade level meetings.
  • Promotes effective communication among all members of the school community. Develops and maintains good relations with the school community, and other professional, civic, community, and volunteer groups.
  • Manages change and facilitate integration through communication and standard operational procedures.
  • Ensures the team is meeting goals related to developing new programs and delivering on existing goals to improve achievement and increased use of instructional technology at all levels.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include decisions related to selection, performance appraisal, discipline and salary recommendations.
  • Build strong and empowered teams by providing direction, delegation, counsel, mentoring and expertise to individual team leads, while retaining overall responsibility and accountability for results.
  • Promote and encourage the development, training and promotion of staff members to assure the perpetuation of a professional and competent workforce.

LOCATION:

Remote -An Arizona resident is preferred for this role. If employee does reside outside of Arizona, they must be eligible to work in the United States.

TRAVEL:

Occasional travel may be required for site visits, meetings, trainings and/or conferences. Locations may vary and may require overnight stays.
