CLERICAL ABILITIES (TYPING, FILING AND EFFECTIVE PHONE TECHNIQUE). COMPUTER EXPERIENCE PREFERRED. A GENUINE LIKING FOR AND ABILITY TO WORK EFFECTIVELY WITH CHILDREN. REPORTS TO: DISTRICT NURSE; PRINCIPALJOB GOAL: To provide the fullest possible educational opportunity for each student by minimizing absence due to illness and creating a climate of health and well-being in the district's schools:Perform duties as directed by the District Nurse and school administration.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain the health center office and health records consistent with school district health office procedures. Assist with preventive health services programs (e.g., fluoride mouth rinse and immunizations) Perform health screening according to school district policy. Provide minor first aid and carry out emergency procedures according to school district policy. With proper training, perform technical (e.g., special health care) procedures according to school district policy. Dispense medications according to district policy and all applicable state laws and rules and regulations. Refer problems beyond area of expertise to District Nurse or appropriate agencies for consultation and advice.
