As part of the architecture team, you will be involved in the development and enhancement of a few of our core systems used in our web development. These systems include the foundation of our listings data processing and search technology behind our public-facing websites, which are industry-leading marketplaces for buyers to find what they are looking for in our given markets.

Our team works in an agile environment and takes an iterative approach to developing solutions. We also run in a modified scrum framework that fits our SDLC. We utilize in-house developed, easy-to-use tools for managing the backlog, planning, and day-to-day work. Our teams are highly collaborative and take a team-oriented approach to development.

This is a highly technical team that thrives on the skills of those that are excellent problem solvers. Some areas of development are HA, distributed hosting, data queuing and processing, and search. Core technologies used are Elasticsearch, .NET framework, ASP.NET MVC, Windows services, and React.js.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience working with some or all of the above technologies, a strong desire to learn how things work, and loves solving some of the most complex technical problems.

Responsibilities:

1. Participate in solution design to satisfy a wide range of business needs.
2. Analysis and translation of business requirements into technical requirements for development, and creation of design documents and technical specifications.
3. Adhere to best practices and standards in the areas of development, technology, and security.
4. Provide post-implementation support, including, but not limited to, monitoring application performance and debugging existing code.
5. Keep up with advancements and changes in technology and develop an understanding of how new technologies can be leveraged to provide business solutions.
6. Many projects employ client-side technologies, including JavaScript, jQuery, React.js, CSS, and HTML5 to develop robust and highly interactive web-based UIs.
7. Projects may include development of new products and new features or maintenance of existing software using agile practices as part of a collaborative and open environment.
8. Assume other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Preferred:

1. Elasticsearch experience - ELK stack, faceted searching, term aggregation, NGram, performance tuning, cluster management.
2. Implementation of different HA/DR solutions in your career.
3. Website and API development using the Microsoft stack (C#, VB, ASP.NET, SQL, IIS, Windows Server, .NET Framework, .NET Core).
4. Strong relational database knowledge.
5. SQL Server Knowledge and experience (Scripting, Indices, Views, Stored Procedures).
6. Ability to perform effectively in a team-oriented environment.
7. Ability to quickly learn new technologies. We regularly use and explore new technologies to efficiently solve our technical problems.
8. Strong analytical skills to determine effective approaches to business solutions.
9. Understanding of best practices and methods to integrate applications within the organization and with external partners.
10. Strong knowledge of the full software development life cycle, with exposure to agile or iterative approaches to delivery preferred.
