Description of Position
Reporting to the Associate Dean of Career & Technical Education at Chino Valley, the incumbent will teach discipline specific courses as needed, including general agriculture, aquaculture, animal care, animal behavior, and entomology. Incumbent will be responsible to manage the campus fish hatchery living laboratory. Instructional responsibilities will include course preparation and instruction; program and class recruitment; curriculum development; participation in the on-campus college community and continued professional growth activities; and creative program building based on needs assessment and in collaboration with other faculty. May be asked to teach other courses in disciplines in which she/he is able to be credentialed.
The successful faculty member recognizes that service to our students is our highest priority, and embraces their role in student success, recruitment, and retention. This includes being open to a variety of delivery methods and course design with the possibility of interactive, online, day, evening, weekend classes and/or teaching at various College locations and/or in the high school/college dual enrollment programs. In addition, faculty should be open to both traditional (16 week) and compressed course design (i.e., 8 week classes). Faculty can expect to participate in innovative forms of assessment and should be willing to utilize OER when possible.

Terms of Teaching Assignment Include:
- Meet and teach assigned class(es) in accordance with course outlines, including specified textbooks. A course outline is a district-approved document covering such items as course prefix, number, title, description, learning outcomes and content.
- Develop and submit to the division office a course syllabus and schedule of assignments based upon the approved college course outline prior to the start of class(es). A syllabus is a learning plan designed by the instructor to inform students about the learning outcomes, assessment requirements, grading criteria, attendance standards, instruction and institution policies, and support services.
- Promptly submit required rosters, grade reports, evaluations, and academic reports; retain student grade records for one calendar year.
- Follow the full-time faculty accepted standards as described in applicable administrative procedures which relate to satisfactory service and conduct becoming a faculty member.
- Attend required instructional related meetings such as orientation meetings, department or division meetings, and other meetings as required.
- Attend meetings and workshops as may be necessary to obtain or renew certification or essential licensure requirements.
- Document the completion of three (3) hours per semester of professional development activities related to the discipline area and student learning.
- Form and chair annual advisory boards to maintain academic compliance and to ensure the program remains current.
- Manage campus fish hatchery living laboratory.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Expectations & Requirements- Bachelor's degree in the discipline to be taught; OR
- Associate's degree in the discipline to be taught; AND Five (5) years recent work experience in the field to be taught
Preferred Skills & Abilities- Master's degree in the field to be taught.
- Community college teaching experience and/or secondary education teaching experience.
- Aquaculture experience.
- Experience with multi-media technology to enhance student learning.
- Experience with on-line instruction.
- Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
- Ability to teach other courses.
- Experience with software typical of an office suite.

The noise level in the classroom is usually quiet while the noise level in the lab is typical of a greenhouse/hatchery environment.
