Description of Position

Under direct or lead work of a Ground Supervisor or Grounds Lead, performs duties assisting with grounds tasks which include operation of equipment and completion of daily grounds maintenance, landscape projects, on-call for snow removal, and all other duties as assigned.

  • Assists with maintenance related duties under the direction of the Grounds Lead
  • Operation of common hand and power tools to complete required tasks
  • Completion of work orders and related paperwork on an electronic work order system

Minimum Expectations & Requirements

  • Valid AZ Driver's License and a clean driving record
  • Ability to follow work direction and work as a part of a team
  • Ability to adapt to workplace and workload changes
  • Ability to perform the safe operation of vehicles, equipment, and tools
  • Accuracy and attention to detail with regard to work orders and timekeeping
  • Regular attendance is an essential job function as it demonstrates dependability toward the performance of job duties
  • Aptitude to learn new tasks quickly
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and managers in person, by phone, and by email
  • Ability to work in an environment that promotes teamwork and strong work ethics
  • Required to remove snow when called in after hours

Preferred Skills & Abilities

  • Progressive work experience in skilled trades
  • Experience working with the public, students, faculty, and staff while providing customer service
  • Knowledge of construction and maintenance of buildings and grounds
  • Work experience in a community college/higher education environment.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Turf maintenance experience
  • Pest management experience

LEAVE BENEFITS

  • Personal Leave: Use of up to three personal leave days per year which are charged against accumulated sick leave to take care of items of personal business

Compensation is added to the employee's regular pay at the rate of $175 per month.   • Direct Deposit: Paychecks deposited directly into the employee's bank account(s)
