l. The completed application will be reviewed for completeness by the Human Resources Department and other designated Managers, who will determine whether to interview the applicant. We do not automatically interview all applicants.
- If no interview is planned, the application is placed in an active file for the position involved and held for a period of three months. These applications are reviewed at a later time, if and when additional openings for the position become available.
- If an interview is planned, the applicant will be contacted by the Human Resources Department, normally within one to two weeks after the position's announced close date.
2. Interviewees who are selected for employment are usually contacted within two to three days after their interview. Arrangements will then be made to complete all necessary paperwork to begin the background investigation. Many pre-hires will be required to complete an application packet for Arizona Department of Gaming Certification and/or a Tribal Gaming License depending on position offered.
- The fee for certification will be payable by the pre-hire depending on the position offered.
3. If you are selected for the position, a background investigation will be completed that includes, but is not limited to, verification of:

Important information for the candidate. - Felony convictions will be grounds for denial of Gaming Certification and/or a Tribal Gaming License.
- All new hires will be required to submit verification of authorization to work within the United States in accordance with federal law. Employment is contingent on passing a drug test.
- Preference in filling any non-grant / non-contract funded vacancies is given to enrolled Tribal Members of the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe and to other qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Employment Preference Policy and Procedure. Documentation of Tribal enrollment required (Tribal Enrollment Card, Certificate of Indian Blood or Tribal Voter Registration Card).
POSITION TITLE: CUSTODIAN
LOCATION: Prescott, AZ
REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
SCOPE OF WORK:The Custodian will have the responsibility of providing extensive janitorial services for all Yavapai Gaming Agency Facilities. This includes mopping, vacuuming, and other maintenance duties.
Will become familiar with the Tribal/State Gaming Compact, National Indian Gaming Commission's (NIGC) Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), the Tribal Gaming Code, Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA), the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Title 31, and Departmental Internal Controls and Job Instructions.
WORK PERFORMED: This job description does not constitute an employment agreement between the Tribe and the employee and is subject to change as the needs of the Tribe and requirements of the position change. The above duties and responsibilities are not an all-inclusive list but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position;
Will keep the interior of the Casinos and Training facilities clean, neat and safe;
Will use various cleaning materials, as necessary to clean all areas of the Casinos and Training facilities;
Will use carpet cleaning equipment as necessary to clean and dry carpet;
Will clean glass windows when needed;
Will clean, sweep, mop, etc., all restrooms, and refill toiletry items when needed;
Will occasionally work in conjunction with Grounds Custodian and Maintenance personnel to cover other assignments when needed;
Will perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must have high school diploma or GED;
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and adhere to the Tribe/Gaming's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment;
Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License and be insurable under the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe's Auto Insurance Carrier;
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong orientation to excellent customer service;
Must be self-reliant and capable of working independently as appropriate or necessary;
Must pass a background security check prior to and during the course of employment with the Tribe/Gaming Agency in order to meet the Tribal State Compact and/or Tribal Gaming Ordinance;
Must adhere to all Tribal/Gaming Agency Personnel Policies and Procedures;
Must have proper knowledge of cleaning techniques;

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Prefer three years' experience in custodial and maintenance work and/or 2 years' experience as a Yavapai Gaming Agency Cleaning Attendant.
