**Essential Functions**

- Understands and utilizes instruction sheets, drawings, specifications, and paperwork describing the job; interprets as required

- Uses a variety of tools (up to and including table saws, radial arm saws, panel saws, hand skill saws, pneumatic staples and nail guns, drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, vices, overhead cranes, forklifts, and measuring instruments)

- Assembles crates using plywood, studs, cardboard, and measuring tools. Must be able to calculate the size of the crate needed using specifications provided.

- Inspects each crate to verify quality and proper measurement throughout the process and at completion.

- Cleans workstation, machines, tools, and equipment.

- Performs tasks and duties in other departments as assigned by Manager.

- Wears appropriate PPE at all times to optimize safety and reduce hazards

**Supervisory Responsibility**

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

**Work Environment**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

**Physical Demands**

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

**Position Type and Expected Hours of Work**

This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday with overtime on Saturdays as scheduled by your supervisor.

**Travel**

No travel is expected for this position.

**Required Education and Experience**

- High school diploma or GED, or three to six months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- 1+ year of experience working with both hand tools and power tools.

- Ability to remain focused on tasks and meet deadlines in a timely fashion.

- Familiarity with safety guidelines

**Preferred Education and Experience**

- Fabrication certificate received from trade school.

- Three to six months work experience in fabricating shop.

- 1+ year of experience in the construction or roofing industry

- OSHA training

**Additional Eligibility Qualifications**
